selfie 04.11/14
Selfie. 04.11.14 The first layer of the figure. So it begins. The intent is for the figure to emerge as the middle painting. Then I will push the figure back by bringing forward the ground palette and marks.

Kitchen flowers concept image 1
Kitchen Flowers Concept image one, cropped snapshot of a video transition. I will choose to paint all or a portion of the image either on paper or canvas or both as part of the Kitchen Flowers series " they provide an endless supply of colour and joy during the Danish winter".
Kitchen Flowers concept
Kitchen Flowers , concept video. 01.06.14. The transitions found in this video will provide interesting subject matter for future paintings. I photographed bouquets of tulips, daffodils and roses that I enjoyed in my Copenhagen apartment Kitchen window. I photographed them each day fresh in the vase through to decay. Then I created a video using photoshop cropping and movie maker using the still images.

Selfie revised concept image 30.05.14
"selfie" Revised concept image. using just the two current ground layers I have revised the concept image for Selfie. I will keep using this technique as I build the next two ground layers introducing blue and green hues.
selfie, layers one and two
Layers one and two of "selfie". The scale of this peice can be measured against the height of the door. The next layer will be a gradual build up of blue from the top left corner gradually becoming more transparent as the colour moves towards the center canvas. Conversely a layer of green will build from the bottom right canvas as a forth layer. I have been using a thick brush and rag to appy the colour then pressing porous shelf liners to pull paint off the canvas to create texture.
